Teacher Policy

Role & Classification

Teachers engaged by Viewpoint act as independent contractors. Contractors are not employees and do not receive employee benefits. They are responsible for all taxes, insurance, and legal filings. Contractors may not represent themselves as employees or bind Viewpoint.

Teaching Duties

Teachers must perform all instructional responsibilities professionally, including:

  1. Customer Support
  1. Planning
  • Preparing full course outlines and detailed lesson plans.
  • Ensuring all content aligns with Viewpoint pacing and standards.
  1. Communication
  • Coordinating with curriculum advisors and mentors.
  • Communicating regarding attendance, progress, and classroom needs.
  1. Curriculum Adherence
  • Following Viewpoint curriculum exactly as provided.
  • No skipping lessons, altering pacing, or adding outside material.
  1. Preparation
  • Delivering structured, interactive lessons.
  • Submitting required prep or materials in advance when instructed.
  1. Punctuality & Class Conduct
  • Arriving at least 15 minutes before class start.
  • Starting and ending sessions on time.
  • Maintaining an engaging, professional teaching style.
  1. Recording Requirements
  • Ensuring every session is recorded (audio + video) as required.
  1. Materials & Assignments
  • Providing necessary materials.
  • Assigning homework, classwork, quizzes.
  • Giving timely feedback.
  1. Monitoring Student Progress
  • Tracking attendance.
  • Monitoring engagement and comprehension.
  1. Student Support
  • Answering student questions within approved channels only.

Professional Standards & Conduct

Teachers must maintain professionalism and proper boundaries. No personal or off-platform contact, tutoring, or sharing of contact information with students is allowed. No inappropriate behavior or discussions outside academic content.

Violations may result in immediate termination.

Scheduling & Class Delivery

Teachers must teach at assigned times. Viewpoint may adjust scheduling, format, or class length. Teachers must comply with operational changes and maintain punctuality.

Absences, Notice & Replacement

Teachers must provide a minimum of 7 days advance notice for any absence (except emergencies). Teachers must secure a qualified replacement approved by Viewpoint. Viewpoint may reject replacements if unqualified. Failure to give required notice or provide an approved replacement may result in loss of pay, administrative deductions, removal from roster, or termination.

Confidentiality & Non-Disclosure

Teachers acknowledge access to confidential information, including student data, curriculum, recordings, internal documents, and non-public business information. Teachers agree they will not disclose, copy, screenshot, store, forward, or use confidential information outside Viewpoint-approved channels.

These obligations apply during the contract and for five (5) years after termination. Breaches may result in immediate termination, financial liability for damages, and legal action.

Curriculum Compliance

Teachers must follow Viewpoint’s curriculum, pacing, objectives, and assignments. Unauthorized modifications are prohibited.

Intellectual Property

All materials, curriculum, recordings, and content created or used for Viewpoint are Viewpoint property. Teachers may not reuse, share, or teach these materials elsewhere during or after engagement.

Recording Consent

Teachers consent to audio and video recording of classes and grant Viewpoint unlimited, royalty-free rights to use recordings for teaching, belated viewing, training, and operational purposes.

Expenses

Teachers must obtain written approval before incurring expenses. Unapproved expenses will not be reimbursed.

Hiring Students

Should a teacher choose to hire a Viewpoint student for employment, paid projects, internships, or contracted work, it must be under the following conditions:

  • The hiring must not negatively impact the student’s engagement, attendance, academic performance, or participation in any Viewpoint program.
  • The teacher (or the teacher’s business) must hold a minimum of 25% ownership in the entity hiring the student.
  • For each student hired, the teacher agrees to compensate Viewpoint Services Inc. with either 5% of the student’s annual full-time salary, or a flat fee of $1,000, depending on the nature and length of the employment.
  • Viewpoint Services Inc. reserves the right to waive this compensation at its discretion, on a case-by-case basis.
  • All hiring arrangements must be fully disclosed to Viewpoint prior to hiring and may not proceed without Viewpoint’s written acknowledgment.
  • Teachers may not hire students for unregulated, unsafe, or unapproved work of any kind.

Non-Solicitation

Teachers may not tutor, recruit, solicit, or encourage any student to join outside programs or personal businesses. This restriction applies during engagement and 24 months after termination.

Non-Compete

For 24 months after termination, teachers may not teach or assist in competing programs, create similar courses, use Viewpoint’s methods elsewhere, or serve competing student audiences in-person or online.

Return of Property

All materials must be returned or permanently deleted upon termination or upon request.

Termination

Viewpoint may terminate engagement at any time, with or without cause or notice. Teachers are compensated only for completed classes.

Indemnification

Teachers will indemnify Viewpoint against claims arising from their negligence, misconduct, or violation of this Policy.

Agreement

Teaching for Viewpoint, accepting an assignment, or performing instructional duties constitutes acceptance of this Policy.
